Where is our Ranch ?

We are located approximately 30 minutes south of North Bay. When travelling from the north, you will pass both exits to Trout Creek/Port Loring. The next turn off is called Lindsay’s Hill Road on your Right. Take this turn off and you will immediately come to a “T” in the road. Go right and it will bring you up a big hill. When at the top of the hill, stay to your left and we are the first lane way on your left #99.

When can we access the Barn for a Weekend Wedding?


You will have access to designated areas of the Ranch from:

Friday at 12:00 PM – Sunday at 1:00 PM

This gives you ample time for:

  • Decorating & set-up
  • Rehearsal
  • Wedding celebration
  • Takedown & cleanup

  • Last Call & Last Dance: 12:30 AM
  • Barn and Bar Closed : by 1:00 AM

What is a Sunup to Sundown Wedding?

A 15-hour, unhurried wedding day designed for couples who want time to breathe, connect, and celebrate without rushing.


Event Time: 9:00 AM – Midnight

This experience includes:

  • Full access to the Barn & Grounds
  • Cabin included for getting ready & private moments
  • Plenty of time for setup, ceremony, celebration, and lingering


What time does the venue close for Mid-Day Weddings?

  • Last Call & Last Dance: 11:30 PM
  • Guests off property: by Midnight


What is your capacity for a Weekend Wedding OR Mid-Day Wedding?

Up to 180 guests

Is there water available?

Water is available for:

  • Rinsing dishes
  • Cleanup
  • Flowers

For drinking water, couples are asked to bring their own.


ALCOHOL, BARTENDING & LICENSING

Who is responsible for alcohol service?

You are responsible for alcohol service and licensing, similar to hosting an event at your own home.

We recommend obtaining a LCBO Non-Sale or Sale License.

Bartenders must have Smart Serve certification.


Do you know bartenders we can hire?

Yes!

Betty-Jo & Angelina can assist with bartending and coordination—please reach out for their exclusive package.



GARBAGE & RECYCLING

Who is responsible?

You are responsible for leaving the Ranch as you found it, we can take your empties it you so choose, we also can take your grabage and recycling for you once all is gathered up :)

We provide:

  • Garbage bags
  • Blue bins
  • Waste cans

Alcohol empties may:

  • Be taken with you or
  • Donated to the local Lions Club (funds support community initiatives)



COORDINATION, SUPPORT & RENTALS

Do you offer coordination or support?

Yes—we are here to help.

We can recommend experienced individuals to assist with:

  • Coordination
  • Bartending
  • Rehearsals
  • Event flow & logistics

Support is optional and entirely your choice.

Do you offer rentals or décor?

Yes.

We offer a selection of exclusive rental items and décor available only at The Mel Gibson Ranch, with additional services upon request.



LOGISTICS & SAFETY

Do we need insurance?

Yes.

You must obtain Party & Alcohol Liability Insurance (PAL).

Policy requirements:

  • Minimum $2 million coverage
  • Must name:
  • The Mel Gibson Ranch Co. Inc.
  • Guy Gibson
  • Bartenders
  • Address: 99 Lindsay’s Hill Road
  • Must cover:
  • Friday noon – Sunday 1:00 PM (Weekend Weddings)
  • DAY OF YOUR SUNUP - SUNDOWN Mid-Week Wedding



Do you support LGBTQ+ weddings?

Love is Love — absolutely.


Can we hold a rehearsal?

Yes—and we highly recommend it.

Staff can assist with rehearsal coordination, especially when setting up the barn the night before. Coordination packages are available.


What if the weather doesn’t cooperate?

Indoor ceremonies in the barn are always an option—rain or shine.


Do you offer transportation guidance?

Yes.

We strongly recommend arranging shuttle or bus transportation to and from hotels to help prevent drinking and driving.


RESTRICTIONS (For Everyone’s Safety)

  1. No campfires, candles, sparklers, smoking, or artificial petals/confetti
  2. No inflatable structures
  3. No dogs on site
  4. No camping on the property


We are on the top of a hill, and it is generally breezy, it is not worth the risk for anyone to allow unforeseen circumstance to occur, nor would this be a memory we would like to create.

There are local campgrounds that (under certain conditions) allow campfires and we could give your guests the names & numbers if they wish to stay there.

We do not allow for lite candle in or around the venue, and have a designated location for smoking if requested.

We maintain our environmentally friendly location and allow for only items that are biodegradable be used on the Ranch. Items such as artificial petals or confetti are prohibited walking down the outdoor ceremony.


We have strong breezes that suddenly turn into wind. 


We cannot allow dogs on the property. We have tried on several occasions, but the outcome was not acceptable and therefore we have elected to not allow any animals on site.

That being said; there are several hotels that are pet friendly and campgrounds that allow pets that are close by we would be happy to give you the names and numbers of those facilities.



Please be advised that if any terms or conditions of your signed contract are breached, your damage deposits will be forfeited and will not be returned.
